Review of Cloud VPS Basic 2 of HostingViet

Recently, I received an invitation from HostingViet to try out their VPS services. As a long-time customer in need of a reliable and efficient virtual private server solution, I was intrigued by the offer and decided to give it a shot. So far, my experience with HostingViet’s VPS has been nothing short of impressive. The setup process was smooth and straightforward, and the performance of the server has been top-notch. I am very satisfied with the level of support and resources available from HostingViet, and I am looking forward to continuing to use their VPS services for my business needs.

The VPS tested in today’s article is Cloud VPS Basic 2 of the Cheap Cloud VPS line. The configuration is as follows:

YABS completed in 8 min 7 sec

The quality of the SSD is average, not comparable to the VPSs using NVMe 4.0.

In return, the network speed is too good, always stable around 150Mbps as advertised. The Geekbench 5 scores are generally okay, commensurate with a 7-year-old CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2696 v4, and of course not compared to Ryzen or EPYC.

Run YABS again at 7pm to see if the network speed is squeezed

3. Review Control Panel

Visiting HostingViet.vn website, I was almost shocked because… bad website design is so bad!

This is probably the worst website of a VPS / Dedicated Server service I have ever visited before. Bad from brand logo to content display layout. If there was no trial offer, I would never have dared to register to buy VPS from this party, because the website looks so boring!

Accessing the VPS admin page, the interface is still messed up, not very smooth. In return, the operation is quite intuitive and easy to understand. You can easily change the password, reboot, take a snapshot or install the operating system for VPS directly from the Control panel interface.

I find there is a very convenient temporary VNC login feature, I have not seen any VPS service provider with this feature before.

4. Summary

After more than 1 week of use, I found the VPS uptime stable, not having any problems. HostingViet’s unlimited 150Mpbs network bandwidth is a strength compared to many other VPS providers in the country.
